About Us

Mark Sjolander

Mark Sjolander is the Founder and Managing Director of Indo Pacific Strategy Group and has over 30 years’ experience in defence and national security, political risk analysis, and business strategy in Australia and overseas. Mark is a trusted strategic advisor to Chief Executives across a range of sectors operating in the defence and national security sector. His professional experience includes roles as Chief of Staff to the Australian Assistant Minister for Defence, Chief of Staff to Chief Executives, and senior positions in consulting and the Defence Department. Mark’s professional roles have taken him to the United States, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Mark has advised a range of public and private sector executives on strategic policy, business and commercial strategies, and risk management in complex operating environments. He began his career as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Mark holds a Master of Arts (International Relations) with Honours from the Australian National University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Politics) from the University of New South Wales.
